Nastro Chandelier by Andromeda

Nastro is really a face of Italian company Andromeda. It’s a typical example of a brilliant idea in practice. The chandelier is made of thin, narrow strips of Murano glass. The strips are mounted with special “flexes” to the meal frame. You can easily change the shape of this lighting fixture turning strips in different directions. The chandelier is available in different colors and sizes, but every piece of this collection is still on-of-a-kind as it’s made by drawings of Gianluca Vecchi, the owner of the company.

Modern Style Chandelier from Antique Times

When I look at this chandelier I imagine the narrow streets of Venice, San Marco Square, sharp sounds of craftsmen's hammers, colorful masks and beautiful songs of gandoliers.
I see it in some palazzo at the Grand Canale above the table full of people celebrating carnival times.
This modern and at the same time classic chandelier is fully hand-crafted in Italy.

Papier Mashe as a Material for Modern Lighting Fixtures

Italian designer Francesca Carallo chose a traditional craftsmen material papier mache for her lighting fixtures. I always thought that papier mache was used for crafts like masks and kids room decorations. Francesca has proved that the new materials are here, you just need to pick them up.
These original lamps made in strong bright colors and interesting shapes may serve as a focal point for any interior.
At the picture you can see her lamp "Cornula" in bright red color.

Elica Hi-Life Star Kitchen Hood - Cleans and Shines

For the first time I saw this kitchen hood by Italian company "Elica", I thought it was another nice crystal chandelier. But when I enetered their website, it became clear it's not just a source of light. Star hood is supposed to absorb smells and at the same time illuminates the kitchen with thousands of sparkles coming from crystal prysms.
Moreover, you can operate this appliance with a remote control, that itseld looks like a piece of art.

I MORI Chandelier - Fresh Word in Murano Glass Traditions

Recently Murano Glass experiences a re-birth of popularity it used to have in Renaissance times when Venice was one of the strongest states in Europe. For all these centuries the craftsmen tried to follow strict patterns in design of the lighting fixtures that were leaving Murano island. Even recently it was difficult to find a lighting fixture that wasn’t made in a traditional Venetian style. Now many Italian companies started experimenting with the forms of Murano glass. Look at this I Mori chandelier. The pendants are quite traditional in shape and color, but their arrangement is totally modern and unexpected.

Add Colour to Your Interior - Barcelona Modern Wall Lamp

Sometimes when trying to blend everything into the interior we end up with dull, "neutral" colours. It looks O.K. but not exciting at all. A lot of designers recommend to add a bright spot "a focal" point to the room to make it more personal and cozy.

We think that Barcelona wall lamp could be a right choice in all your efforts to make the interior a little bit colourful and individual. The lamp is available in different options - a chandelier, a table and a floor lamp. Check this out at Casa Di Luce.

Swarovski Morpheus Chandelier

Swarovski Morpheus Chandelier is a true masterpiece! I'd even say that it is the culmination of the Swarovski Chandelier Series. The great idea is that it makes a designer out of you! How? Quite simple, it allows the viewer shape his/her own chandelier out of the light reflections it creates.
For soul:The light reflections play an imaginary game with each of the viewer! While you move it changes its appearance. You may see a circle, which in a second turns into a square, then a couple of seconds latter it makes on an infinity sign. All this happens very smoothly, almost unobserved, and if you are watchful enough your eyes will catch the shapes between. Very much like a kaleidoscope!
The most striking is that the optical illusion it creates, dims the edges of the real shape, which finally make you feel like you have a light film of fog or a cloud hanging out there on your celling.
I can't even decide which one of the Swarovski chandeliers I like the most - Swarovski Nest Chandelier for its totally overwhelming shape, or Swarovski Morpheus Chandelier for its impressive effects.
Technically: The Swarovski Morpheus Chandelier features permutations of ten-foot diameter and 16,000 crystals reflecting Morpheus light. This striking construction works due to the use of servo-motors and lead cables applying pressure to a flexible spring steel assembly. There are six motors arranged in a star configuration. The motors are attached to six points on the perimeter that pull to create the shape of the chandelier. (Sounds alien!!! But it's worth knowing).
By the way, the designer who got this crazy and at the same time striking idea is Yves Behar. Remember this name, because my feeling is that he will surprise us again! Waiting for some ideas that won't let us indifferent! (By: Natalie from http://www.gadget4girls.com/)
