Lunar-Resonant Streetlights by Civil Twilight

The group of young architects “Civil Twilight” based in San Francisco, California has invented the “Lunar-Resonant” Streetlights, investing their talents into the environmental projects all over the world. Lunar-resonant streetlights sense and respond to ambient moonlight, dimming and brightening each month as the Moon cycles through its phases.
Utilizing available moonlight, rather than overwhelming it, saves energy and mitigates light pollution, while facilitating the urban experience of one most fundamental and beautiful cycles of nature. The company is the winner of Design Competition “Next Generation 2007” held by Metropolis magazine.
