Lighting is the most overlooked aspect of interior design. We tend to worry about it only after we’ve settled on, say, furnishings and paint color. And yet it has a disproportionate effect on our rooms. There are signs, however, that lighting design is coming into its own. The International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which ended Tuesday in New York, seemed to have more lighting than in previous years, and lighting of a startling diversity.
